Digital Features
Bespoke feature setMost of the following features can be made available on a per radio basis thus allowing different users access to different features. In this way you can lock most radios down to just for simple calls but allow supervisors access to any of the features they require
Group CallsThe radios can be set for all transmissions to be group calls. This means that when a radio transmits all other radios set to the same channel will receive the messages. This is the standard operating mode and replicates what most users have been used to with analogue radios.
Individual CallsThe display radios can make individual calls. These can be set up by typing in the call number of the radio you wish to talk to or can be called up out of a contact list. The calling radio rings to alert the user of an incoming individual call. All radio models can receive an individual call.
Contact ListThe display models have the ability to show the radios as a contact list. This list allows users to see names against call ID numbers in the same way as a phonebook on a mobile phone. This list can be pre-programmed into the radios by NRB before delivery or created and edited by the user on site.
Text MessagingA text messaging system is available for users with display radios. The user can send either pre-determined messages from a list or type free text messages to be sent to either individual or groups of display radios.
Transmit IdentityAll radios send their unique identity all the time that the radio is transmitting. This can be decoded and displayed on the screens of both DP3600 and DM3600 units. This offers your supervisors the extra security of knowing who is transmitting at all times.
Enable / disableAll radios have their own ID and it is a simple process for a supervisor using a DP3600 radio to disable any radio over the air. This can be used at times when a radio is mislaid or lost to ensure that anyone finding the radio cannot listen in on your conversations. When the radio is recovered the reverse process can take place thus returning the radio back to its operational state. Another use for this is to disable a radio that is being misused by its user.
Radio availabilityA user of a display radio can have the ability to check if another radio is available. If the target radio is on the same channel and within range then target radio will be shown as available.
Emergency CallingThe top button of a radio can be pre-programmed to set off an emergency scheme alerting a group of radios or a control room based dispatcher that a user has an emergency. Combined with the transmit identity feature of the radios this provides a powerful tool in emergency communications
